Volunteering: Being a member of the WACFR team is very rewarding, whether as a medical responder or by providing vital support in admin and fundraising. We are always happy to discuss possibilities with anyone who is potentially interested, and welcome your interest.

Community First Responders receive full training from West Midlands Ambulance Service, and no previous experience is necessary. We do ask a minimum commitment of 20 hours per month on the rota, once qualified, although some people provide a lot more time. Shifts typically last 12 hours but can be adjusted to suit the hours you are able to do.

We have regular group meetings / refresher sessions and are also required to attend a small number of training sessions annually by WMAS. Some of our sessions are jointly organized with other emergency services.
